Innate problems: Are there any innate problems of the western culture?

[Add New]

Pro

  • Western culture fosters immoral behaviour. Practices such as binge drinking, premarital sex, and relentless pursuit of profit are the basic characteristics of modern societies. Worse still, the youth no longer respect the elderly and view them rather as a burden. Values such as family, close friend ties, or chastity are becoming obsolete.

Individuals: Does the western way of life negatively impact individuals?

[Add New]

Pro

  • Losing identity. Western culture is all about globalization - all modern cities look alike, multinational companies sell the same goods all around the planet. This engenders various cultures to "melt", thus individuals to gradually lose their own unique culture and identity.
